The trip of a lifetime is over. We now head back across the globe to Boston. We were scheduled to get picked up at our hotel at 3:30 AM for our 6:15 flight to Paris. We all gathered in the hotel lobby at about 3:15 and waited for our van to arrive. And waited. And waited….. The concierge kindly offered to hunt down our driver who, it turned out, had been told to pick us up at the wrong hotel! Luckily there was minimal traffic and he was able to get over to our hotel and get us to the airport in plenty of time. Our flight to Paris was 4 hours and we had another four hours to wait until our connecting flight to Boston was scheduled to leave. That happened without any drama and we arrived in Boston at about 4:00 PM. We were picked up by our scheduled airport limo and returned to Newfields about 5:30. End of story.
We all had a fantastic time and will remember this trip for the rest of our lives, which, after all, was the point of the whole thing. Good friends, good times, and good memories.

Holy Cow – what delicious-looking, divinely-prepared and, I’m sure, devilishly-good food!! (I must admit though, the grilled octopus did not inspire me!) I’ll be it was well-worth the dieting to come!!!
Welcome home and thanks for sharing your journey!! It was so fun to “be there” with you. 36 days and counting till I take off for Amsterdam – can’t wait!
Wow, looks like a super luscious time! Glad you had a wonderful trip!
Honestly, you folks DO NOT look like “weary travelers” to me one bit. You actually look like you could be just starting out on your incredible trip!!
We’d been awake 24 hours minus whatever sleep any of us got on the plane–and that wasn’t much. So, in spite of our looks, we were pretty tired. However, it was a wonderful trip, and we were all very happy that we’d done it.
